I think that most of the critics to global warming must live in the North East. (And perhaps Atlanta this year.) Not only are we having one of the longest cold snaps in a long time, we are now about to have our second snow storm in as many weeks. Current forecasts show our area will get 6-12 inches of snow, temperatures will be in the twenties and there will be gusty winds of twenty MPH or more making that twenty degree temperature feel even colder.
I think even the meteorologists are starting to take pity on us now. Instead of dramatizing this storm (okay maybe they have been dramatizing it a little) they now remind us that the ten-day forecast shows a slight warming trend…temps in the upper thirties. Whoop-D-Doo!
So yes, I live in a part of the world where a warming trend is high thirties. What about it? There ARE colder places, you know. But apparently, the rest of the world is having some kind of global warming crisis. Don’t suppose they’d like to share some of that with us.
I have every intention of buying myself a bouquet of tulips this weekend as a way to snub my nose at old man winter. Friday will be the halfway mark for February and I am sure there is a light at the end of this winter tunnel. I sure hope so anyway…I’m really getting tired of wearing sweaters.
